It was one fine evening. I was driving my car with my wife on our way home. As we traversed the skirts of the city, we noticed a group of out-of-school youth swarming the streets. I can see from their looks the face of an uncertain future…

“MMG COLLEGE History - the School of Faith”

Thus began the journey of what is now known as MMG College of General Santos City, Inc. Back then, it was known as MMG School of Paramedics and Allied Sciences, Inc. (MMGSPASI), and it was born out of a generous couple’s desire to provide equal opportunity for a better life for all youths.

Madam Emily, the other half of that couple, fondly recalled that “the official first day of class for the pioneers of (MMGSPASI) started July of 2003… There were initially 45 students for the first batch and another 44 students for the second batch on October of that same year…”

Initially, the school offered a 24-Month Associate Degree in Nursing/Applied Science in Nursing Course. The school’s greatest achievement then was being the first school in the Philippines to offer a 15-Month Practical/Vocational Nursing Course based on US-Curriculum.

Over the years, the school endeavored to train skilled and committed students to become highly competent and licensed practical/vocational nurses, housekeepers, household managers, pharmacists and midwives. To do that, the school obtained approval and certification from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Then in 2011, the school was granted approval and certification to offer two new courses in the Tertiary Education - the Bachelor of Science in Social Work, and Diploma in Midwifery.

By 2013, the student population of MMGSPASI had grown substantially that a need for a bigger and better space was established. It was then that the Administration decided to transfer the school to a new location at RDRDC Building at Santiago Boulevard, General Santos City where it can fully accommodate the growing number of MMGSPASI students in an environment that is conducive for learning, and at the same time an environment that allows for efficiency and convenience for both the teachers and students.

The year 2014 paved the way for another milestone for MMGSPASI. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XII granted the school the approval and certification to offer two more courses: the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) and the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA).

In 2016, the Administration focused on the physical expansion of the school when it rented the 2nd level of RDRDC Building, the area formerly occupied by PAG-IBIG Fund Gensan, in preparation for the Senior High School program implementation.

On January 6, 2017, the school finally received the Certificate of Approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the renaming of the school to MMG College of General Santos City, Inc.

Today, MMG College of General Santos City, Inc. offers college courses that are responsive to the needs of the industries in General Santos City and its surrounding regions. Courses such as Diploma in Midwifery/Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, and Pharmacy Services - NC II provide the students with an avenue for inter-professional learning with medical professionals and other healthcare service providers through exposures in clinical, hospital, and community environments.
